シンガポール国立大学とのパートナーシップ締結

2013年5月16日

バース大学は、シンガポール国立大学との覚書に調印し、エンジニアリング・デザインの教育・研究における協力関係を築くことに合意しました。

Both institutions have strong engineering design activities and the future vision and plans for transforming the way it is taught are complementary.

A number of visits have taken place and a workshop to be held in September will start to consolidate and develop this partnership within an international context.

Professor Gary Hawley, who has led the links with NUS, said: “Singapore is a strategically important region for engineering offering significant opportunities for partnerships with universities, research agencies and also industry.

“We currently have our first placement student at Rolls Royce in their state-of-the-art gas turbine assembly plant in Singapore and more are to follow.

“We will shortly be holding a scientific meeting at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on embedded systems for assisted home living and healthcare improvements.  Academic staff from Mechanical and Chemical Engineering will be spending sabbaticals at NUS with reciprocating visits from their engineering design faculty and PhD student exchanges are planned.”

Professor Colin Grant, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Internationalisation, added that these developments with world-class institutions were a “most valuable part in the implementation of the new University international strategy”.
